The allusion to a sexual innuendo emphasizes the importance of preserving a tuos, a customary law based on a verbal promise sealed with a valuable item. Derikaryong Pada, Book III

Tells the story of the most beautiful girl of her day as she matures and awaits the fulfillment of the tuos (the promise of having one's daughter wedded to someone's son), which is the hungaw—the customary wedding. She is handed the gleaming derikaryong pada, a priceless wedding gift with no parallel in the legendary universe. A fantastic party is planned for such a gorgeous bride. However, because the groom is unprepared, the bride is given in marriage to another man. The maiden endures several experiences of agony and struggles until a challenging quarrel is eventually settled.

Balanakon

A thrilling battle between two valiant warriors near the river mouth—Sarandihon, who protects the Bangga-an gibwangan (river mouth), and Balanakon, who wishes to cross by that river channel. Balanakon, the invader, wishes to steal the lovely Matan-ayon from Labaw Donggon. Both warriors, equipped with long-bladed knives, rise to the sky and engage in an airborne display of skill. But Balanakon's gaze is pulled to Kamaging, a long-haired maiden he sees among the gorgeous maidens watching the battle, and he falls in love with her. He intends to entice Kamaging by asking for a bribe (betel nut preparation).
